‘3 Idiots’ Should be Tax-free, Says Aamir

Aamir Khan Despite of the ragging incident in Maharashtra's Medical College, which was said to be inspired by the ragging scene in Aamir's latest film ”3 Idiots”, the actor says the movie should be made tax-free because it gave a positive message and protests ragging in the colleges.

The 44 year old actor told reporters, "I think the film should be exempted from tax, should be shown on Doordarshan (India’s state-owned television channel) and should be screened even in the villages, so that maximum number of people are able to see it, because it has a very positive message for children as well as their parents. It tells the children to become what they really want, and the parents not to put unnecessary pressure on their kids."

He also said, "I think there should be a debate on our education system and its pressures on our kids. Nothing is more important than a life. Union Minister Kapil Sibbal is doing good work in this regard and people should support him."

Clarifying the controversy over the ragging scene, Aamir said that it was very easy to create a controversy over anything. Explaining more, he said, "I did "Sarfarosh", which was against terrorism. However, you could create a controversy saying the film encouraged extremism. I want to clarify that ‘3 Idiots’ is anti-ragging, and does not glorify ragging."

“3-Idiots” in Trouble for Promoting Ragging

3 Idiots Film The state government of Maharashtra has revealed that they will take action if it feels that Aamir Khan starrer "3-Idiots" is promoting ragging. The statement against the film has been issued after 18 medical students were arrested for allegedly ragging fresher. Reportedly 10 junior students have filed a police complaint as they were made to strip, use lewd language and perform mock sexual acts at a hostel party on Naigaum campus in Maharashtra.

18 senior students who were released on bail have admitted that "3-Idiots" the film has provoked them to do the act. Medical Education Minister Vijaykumar Gavit told reporters, "There are media reports that the nature of the Seth Medical college ragging incident was similar to the one shown in ‘3Idiots’. We will also watch the film".

He added, "We would write to the censor board that as far as possible such scenes should be avoided in movies". "3-Idiots" the film is raising a lot of controversies. First it was writer Chetan Bhagat who got into row of story credits.

Well, all we can say that controversy and success comes together. We hope Aamir's "Aal izz well" mantra will solve all these problems.

Salman Khan in Veer Following the footsteps of his good friend Aamir Khan, Bollywood hunk Salman Khan is launching a nationwide hunt for unsung heroes.

The superstar turned 44 on Sunday, 27 December. To promote his forthcoming period film 'Veer', Salman has launched this show. Through the show, Salman wants to connect with the common people and search young men and women who have performed heroic deeds which the nation doesn’t know about.

According to a source, "Lately Salman has been going out of his way to connect with the masses. The idea to launch a contest on his birthday to search for unrecognised heroes came from Aamir Khan's recent connect-with-masses Bharat Darshan which he undertook as part of the promotion for ‘3 Idiots’."

Review of “3-Idiots”

3 Idiots Film Review
Cast: Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Mona Singh and Boman Irani

Director: Raj Kumar Hirani

Producer: Vidhu Vinod Chopra

Rating: 4/5

Year's last blockbuster "3-Idiots" has already hit the theatres today. And after seeing the film I can easily say that the Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan, is not away from making his hat trick. From last two years he is been releasing his films on 25th of December religiously. Two years back Aamir's "Tare Zamin Par" created a history. Again last year he recreated the same magic with "Ghazini", which also rocked on the box-office. This year, this Indian Santa brings "3-Idiots" for his fans.

The film is directed by Raj Kumar Hirani of "Munnabhai" fame. "3-Idiots" was promoted as based on Chetan Bhagat's "5 point someone". But the story has hardly any resemblance, except the backdrop of the engineering college. The film stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Mona Singh and Boman Irani. The venture has been produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

I want to throw some light on the story. The story revolves around Ranchoddas Shaymaldas Chajaad played by Aamir Khan who leaves college all of a sudden. The flick starts with Farhan (R. Madhavan) and Raju (Sharman Joshi) beginning a journey in search of their lost friend Ranchoddas aka Rancho.

The movie proceeds through narrations that take you into the flashback when Rancho, Farhan and Raju arrive at a premier engineering institute to begin their course. They were best of the friends. Rancho's mantra was 'I'll Do It On my Terms'. This mantra always inspired all three friends.

Raju Rastogi and Farhan Qureshi remembered Rancho's romantic relationship with Pia (Kareena Kapoor). Pia is the daughter of their college professor Mr. Viru Sahastrabudhhe (Boman Irani). They wondered about the disappearance of Rancho from the midst of the course without informing them.

Farhan, Raju are trying to locate him through their journey of Shimla, Manali, Ladakh etc. What happens to their quest and if they were able to find out the whereabouts of Rancho, is revealed in the later part of the flick. And, I am not going to reveal that.

Now, coming to the performances, nothing is enough to describe Aamir Khan's performance. He is a true genius. Once again he has proved himself. He is a true perfectionist. Madhavan is a great actor and his natural acting style makes him different from the other biggies. Sharman has proved himself by his brilliant performance in the flick. Raju Hirani's favorite Boman Irani is undoubtedly superb.

Well, we must mention Kareena Kapoor in the film. She has given her best in the film. She is a director's actor. Her outstanding performance in the film surprises everybody. She has revived "Geet" of "Jab We Met" in the film. This is Mona Singh's debut film. Her acting capability is not hidden from anyone. She is still remembered as "Jassi". But she should have gone for a better role for her debut. Her role is limited but she has marked her screen presence.

Music by Shantanu Moitra is pretty good. Audience has experienced a new fragrance of music. Over all it is a fun film and a good Christmas gift for all cinema lovers.
