Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage owes 14million dollars to the US government in back taxes. Reportedly, the "Face/Off" star finds him at the centre of a number of tax claims in recent months. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has made a bill of USD 6.2 million in August last year in relation to his unpaid taxes of 2007.
According to a source, Cage is also facing other claims of unpaid taxes related to his earnings between 2002 and 2004. He has been accused of defaulting USD 2 million loans, which he took in October 2009.
The actor said, "Over the course of my career I have paid at least USD 70 million in taxes. Unfortunately, due to a recent legal situation, another approximate USD 14 million is owed to the IRS. However, I am under new business management and am happy to say that I am current for 2009. All taxes will be paid, including any to-be-determined state taxes".
Reportedly, the actor is currently embroiled in a legal wrangle with his former business manager Samuel Levin, who looked after his financial management. A very close source has revealed that the 46 years old actor's total legitimate 'Tax Amount' is nearly USD 14 million.
