The San Diego's 23 year old couple, Meghan Rickey and Cheyne Whitney, won the 15th edition of the game show. The CBS reality show "The Amazing Race" sends 12 two-person teams, who races around the world while collecting clues and completing tasks.
In the finale, on Sunday, Meghan and her boyfriend Cheyne Whitney beat the other two couples. Dan and Sam McMillen landed on second place. The bickering brothers recently revealed to each other that they are gay. The couple who reached at third place was Ericka Dunlap, former Miss America 2004, and her husband, Brian Kleinschmidt.
CBS reality show "The Amazing Race," has won seven Emmys Awards for best reality show. The 15th edition of the show runs through 8 countries in 21 days. The final episode of the show was shot in the Czech Republic city of Prague.
In the final all three couples headed to Las Vegas by same flight, where the show's last leg was a race around casinos. All the couples have to collect clues from an Elvis Presley impersonator, rappel down the side of the Mandalay resort and retrieve a bouquet by bungee jumping onstage where Cirque du Soleil performs.
Rickey and Whitney, the young students who have known each other since grade school and have dated for several years, won many legs of the competition. And the couple looked promising when they captured first place in bungee jump.
All the three couples, according to clue have to find out the resort named for the most famous casino in Monaco. But a clueless cab driver sent Rickey and Whitney to the Venetian resort instead of the correct one, the Monte Carlo. They were in third place when they got to the right place, where they were to count out $1 million from a huge pile of chips.
The other two couples were caught by nervousness and Rickey and Whitney quickly reached their goal. Afterward they were sent to find Mr. Las Vegas, who was to tell them the finish line. When they located entertainer Wayne Newton, he told them the finish line was at his house.
After going through nerve-wracking rides and weird tasks Rickey and Whitney ultimately crossed the finish line.
After winning the race Rickey said "This has been such a learning experience. Every step of the way it has been so neat."
